International Conference on Seismic Design of Industrial Facilities 2013 - Thanks to all participants

From 26.-27. September 2013 the Chair of Structural Statics and Dynamics of RWTH Aachen University presented the International Conference on Seismic Design of Industrial Facilities.

140 participants met from 17 different countries around the world to discuss the challenges of earthquake-resistant design with special respect to plant engineering. 55 contributions in 12 sessions addressed the topics “Seismic Risk of Industrial Facilities”, “International Building Codes and Guidelines”, “Innovative Seismic Protection Systems”, “Seismic Safety Evaluation and Retrofitting”, “Seismic Design of Primary Structures”, “Seismic Design of Secondary Structures”, “Seismic Design of Silos, Tanks and Self-Contained Structures” and “Soil-Structure Interaction Effects”.

The organizing committee would like to express their gratitude to all speakers and participants of the SeDIF-Conference for their significant presentations and highly interesting and fruitful discussions truly bringing together researchers and practitioners in the field of seismic design of industrial facilities.

The conference proceedings can now be purchased as coloured e-book via Springer publishing house (Springer online shop).
